Do clients keep asking
if you do video?
Time to say yes.

  1. 1.Make Your Own Clip
You plan, shoot and edit your own clip on the day — most people leave with a finished cut.
  2. 2.Build Real Confidence
Learn the camera settings, lighting, filming techniques and CapCut editing skills behind client-ready video.
  3. 3.Leave with More Than Knowledge
Walk away with your own edited clip, hands-on experience working with a professional model, and the confidence to start saying "Yes, I do video."

This workshop is for:

The kind of clip you'll make:
Result 1 — slow, cinematic pacing
Result 2 — fast, rhythm-driven cut
Behind the scenes — the shoot

Two finished edits from one shoot — and the shoot behind them. Everything you see — the cuts, editing rhythm and dynamics, text animation, sound design, transitions — you will do with your own hands by the end of the session.

The workshop splits into four blocks:

[theory]

Camera fundamentals

Everything you need to know before you start filming.

  • Camera settings for video
  • Frame rates, shutter speed, aperture & ISO
  • Lens selection
  • Lighting setups for cinematic video
  • Camera movement and composition
  • Essential workflow and discipline
[plan]

Script & shot list

Before filming, you plan your clip on paper — so on set you shoot a sequence, not random clips.

  • A one-line idea: what your clip is about
  • Shot list: wide, medium, close-up, detail
  • The job of every shot in the story
  • Planning movement and shooting order
  • Storyboard basics — when a quick sketch helps
[practice]

Filming with a professional model

30 minutes of one-to-one shooting time — with personal guidance and feedback while you shoot.

  • Direct a professional model
  • Work with studio lighting
  • Choose position before the moment
  • Build coverage the edit will need
  • Personal correction as you shoot
[edit]

Editing in CapCut

Turn your footage into a polished cinematic video — on your phone, or on a laptop if you prefer a bigger screen.

  • Importing and organising clips
  • Cuts and transitions
  • Editing rhythm, pacing and dynamics
  • Basic colour correction
  • Text and text animation
  • Effects and speed ramping
  • Music and sound design
  • Export for Instagram & TikTok

Don't chase the shot.
Anticipate it.

Booking conditions

  • What your place includes. Your £220 buys the sessions listed above — the theory and planning block, 30 minutes of one-to-one shooting time with a professional model, and the group editing block — rather than a set number of hours. Shooting time is scheduled individually, so the total length of the day depends on how many people are booked.
  • Timings. The start time and running order are confirmed by email before the workshop. Times given on this page are a guide, not a fixed commitment.
  • Changes on our side. Models, tutor, equipment and location may change where necessary. If we cancel or reschedule, you can move to the new date or have a full refund.
  • Minimum numbers. The workshop runs subject to a minimum number of bookings. If it doesn't go ahead you'll be offered the next date or a full refund.
  • Cancelling your place. Places are non-refundable, but up to 7 days before the date you can transfer to another date or pass your place to someone else — just let us know.
  • Your footage. Video and stills you make are for your own portfolio and self-promotion. Advertising or commercial use needs separate written permission from the model.
  • Equipment. Bring your own camera and a phone or laptop for editing. Studio lighting is provided.
  • Photography on the day. We may photograph or film the workshop for our own promotion. Tell us on the day if you'd rather not appear.
